Welcome to my first post on my newly rebuilt and streamlined Affiliate Marketing Website and Blog.

Due to some technicle diffficulties I  scraped everything and started over. For those of you that were regular visitors I apoligize for any inconvenience that this has caused. Since this is a newly built site lets look at some tips on how to design a new website.

When running a home business, there are a number of crucial facets you will want to pay attention to in order to succeed.  Everything from the content you produce to the marketing you decide on can factor into your business.  But one facet that sometimes gets overlooked is the design.  Here are five tips to design a professional affiliate marketing website.

1. Headline

The headline is the first thing people see when they come to your website.  It is your first chance to win them over and keep them on your site.  Because of this, you want to grab their attention right away.  You can do this by having the header be in a much larger font than the rest of the content, bold it, and make it a unique and professional style.  In addition, you can create a logo of some sort to place behind the lettering.

2. Graphics

Having graphics on your website is a must.  You want your website to be just as much visual as it is intellectual.  When you place graphics on your site, you want to place graphics that will better your site and not just be there for the sake of having something visual.  The last thing you want to do is clutter your site with far too many flashing graphics.  This will only take away the focus from the content and the point of the site.

3. Balance

While you want to have graphics to keep the visual attention of your visitors, you also want to provide them with content.  In order to keep your website flowing smoothly, it is essential you create a balance between the two.  In order to design professional website, your graphics and content should interchange throughout the site.

4. Highlight the important info

Unlike what many entrepreneurs realize, most visitors will not go through an entire website.  Because of this, you want to highlight the most important information so people can grasp the concept and find the message quicker.  You can do this by placing the most important information above the fold, bolding or underlining key words, or separating key phrases into a sub-headline.

5. Contact information

You always want to have your contact information at least once on your home page.  You want to make it clear you are more than willing to answer any questions visitors may have.  Make it understood that you are there for them and want to help them.  It is vital you place at least your email, if not your phone number and a fax number.

When looking to design a professional affiliate marketing website, take the tips listed in this article into consideration.  These will help you take your website from a mediocre site to one that will stand out from the rest of the crowd.
