Sfi: Home Business Reality

The reality of home business is that not everyone makes it. In fact I knew from my research that 95% are bound to fail. I decided I was going to look for something free. I didn’t want to waste my money if the statistics showed that more than likely I would fail. I found SFI it was free to join so I signed up.

When I joined SFI and started as a free member I was skeptical about the reality of home business. I found out that I wouldn’t make any money unless I became an EA -meaning you either have to make so much in sales every month or you buy so much every month. Even though I was skeptical about the reality of home business I decided to get my EA status the easy way and buy a $30 membership that would give me EA status every month without having to worry about it.

I was put off by this until I realized that by becoming an EA I locked in my position on the powerline and everyone who joined SFI after me would contribute to my check. The first month isn’t much but I calculated it out and within 3 months the SFI powerline will be paying for my EA status without my having to do anything. From there every penny earned on top of that is profit.

For my first month I made $10 with my powerline alone. At this pace the powerline will double every month and within three months the powerline alone will pay for the executive status. With in a year the powerline will actually be making some money, and that is just the POWERLINE which isn’t the main money maker with SFI, just a bonus.

The real money maker is your own affiliates; they hold the real money making power. The one home business reality that I have learned is that you will not get rich overnight contrary to all the ads circulating. It will take time to build and any good business needs investing of time and money. I was willing to invest some money, but not a lot. I thought $30 a month was reasonable and if I could do this for the next year I would see some real profits.

The powerline is just a bonus. The real money comes by referring your own members and if you are really terrible at this there is a co-op that you can join and they will get them for you. Now, the reality of home business with SFI is that the real way to earn money is to get your affiliates to upgrade to EA. Imagine how easy that would be if you tell them that within 3 months their upgrade will pay for itself. How cool is that?!

Whenever my own affiliates go EA they get this great powerline feature as well as getting the power of their own team earning capabilities. The reality of home business it that it takes time, but with a great company like SFI it is a reality that you can have. Start today and by this time next year you will be taking a nice fat check to the bank and patting yourself on the back.

Success In The Home Business Owner’s Eyes

Success lies in the eye of the beholder. Or maybe that’s just beauty. We all define success differently. Some define it according to a bottom dollar amount. Did the home business owner earn more than he spent? Some will define it according to time. Did the home business owner spend time with his kids this week? Did he log in a date with his wife? Some will define it simply according to relationships. Do his kids like him? Does his wife not want to kill him this week? Home business owners have found success in several arenas with some simple principles.

First and foremost, successful home business owners find a way to balance family and work. They remember why they came home in the first place. Few home business owners choose to come home because they lost their job and had no other choice but to open their own business and work from home. Just about anyone can get a job if he really wants to. So home business owners typically come home for one or two reasons: to be their own boss and to spend time with their family. These home business owners find a way to both work hard and play hard. They take their business and family time seriously.

Secondly, successful home business owners read. They educate themselves on business practices, money management, and even family life. They understand the value of seeking out wisdom in various arenas of life. Additionally, the successful home business owner knows that he will grow as a person and an entrepreneur when he applies whatever he learns to his business and family life. He studies those who have succeeded at what he wants to do. He recognizes their habits, demeanor, and practices, and he mimics them with great detail.

Finally, a successful home business owner manages his money. He understands the need to manage money both at home and in the home office. Before he spends his money on bills or desires, he first writes out a budget. He involves his family in the personal budget, and he involves them in the monthly budget committee meeting. He will show them how they are spending money at home and receive their input on the budget. In the same way, he may involve his family in the business as well, hiring his kids as associates or menial labor, thus giving them the opportunity to learn about money management as well, with the first lesson being the correlation between hard work and money.

Success truly does lie in the eye of the beholder. Some people might deem a man who makes only $40K while spending the vast majority of his time at home a failure, and yet others deem his strong family relationship a success. Thus with this in mind, the home business owner must first of all define his concept of success, and then take the necessary steps to become successful in his own eyes.

Building A Website The Easy Way

Being an entrepreneur, I was anxious to stake my claim on the web and join the community of those who were making a living online. The only problem was, I didn’t have a clue how to build a website or the patience or time to learn all that code.

So, what did I do? I started a search for an easy website creator. My thinking was surely some ambitious entrepreneur had already realized the earnings potential of a website builder for the do-it-yourself person? As you can probably guess, I found one. Well, actually, I found quite a few. Of course, back then there weren’t nearly as many options on the fiber optic highway as there are today…so my selection was a bit limited when compared to today’s market. Back then was approximately six years ago, which at the speed of changing technology might as well have been the ice age.

I made my selection and started building a website. Was it easy? No. Remember I was inexperienced and soon learned that not all site builders are alike. My first attempt was definitely with a stone age product in a modern day world. Believing that all products, from a well-known company, are surely quality was my first mistake. While this company offered several affordable services and quality products, their easy website builder wasn’t one of them.

I began my search again. This time, however, I relied on the feedback from other website builders like myself. Hence, ask someone who has already been there, done that. After garnering a few referrals, I set out to try the mentioned services and finally settled on one.

Am I happy with my choice? Absolutely! So happy in fact I saved my money, earned on the web, and purchased a partner’s program with the company. You see, I was referring so many people to their services, I finally wised up and realized I might as well be earning from all those referrals….and now I am.

After much trial and error, I did learn a few important keys to online success and building a website. Here are a few tips to help you get started and stake your claim on the world wide web:

•Target your market. Don’t try to be a website for everything. Find your niche and fine tune your site to match.
•Stay away from dark background colors and wallpaper. Keep your site clean and easy to navigate.
•Add quality content. Keep your site content fresh and updated.
•Quality link exchanges do work. Exchange links with websites that fit the demographics of your site. Stay away from link farms.

Now that you have your website online, marketing and maintaining your site will be the key. It’s not like the movie, “The Field of Dreams – If you build it, they will come.” If you don’t market your website, guess what? They don’t come. It’s that simple.

Marketing is such a big and hot topic that I won’t go into it in this article, however, I do suggest doing a search on the web for keywords, “website marketing.” You will discover there are millions of responses and endless information and debate on what is the best solution. My experience: there is simply no one solution for this issue as the internet is ever changing and updating. Make time to read and learn about marketing your business online and locally. There are many great resources on the web which can help you stay informed and updated.

You can become rich over night with a few quick steps..NOT!! All over the internet you will see myths and hoax’s claiming you can strike gold in a few days through their internet marketing course. The problem with these claims is that it’s not true; it takes time to have a successful home based business.

There certainly are ways that you can speed up the process and have success at a much quicker pace, but the key to success is patience. To start, you want to continuously research and develop your home based business to the best of your ability. The more you are determined and motivated to develop a successful home based business, the quicker you will begin to see these results.

Another way to speed up the process and build a successful home based business is to provide your visitors with fresh and enticing content. When you search online for various topics, you will notice that everything is the same online. People tend to take already developed ideas and put a twist on them to make it their content.

Because of this, it is obvious that all of the “get rich overnight” slogans are nothing more than a myth. All people that start a website would like for it to be successful, and by that I mean that it actually makes money online. If this is your desire there are many things you must do for your website to be a success.

You need to have a fast loading website that loads in under 8 seconds, nobody likes to wait for pages to load. You want to optimize your website for the search engines by using the right kind of Meta Tags and content description. All the backgrounds should be simple and friendly to readers, do not put things there to draw attention away from the article. Animated graphics are distracting so use graphics sparingly, too many graphics can make a website look unprofessional plus they slow the load time down.

A home page should tell you what the website will be about, like if it is about steps to make money online, you should stay on that topic. If it is difficult to understand what the site is about then making money will be unlikely.

You should not have to many banner ads, limit banners to maybe 2 or 3 and it is best not to put them on the top of web page. Use the right grammar and spelling this keeps it looking professional. Always make sure the links are working properly, you do not need errors popping up on users. Put the contact information easy to see on each page and respond to comments quickly if you have that option on the website.

Navigating the website should be easy, so place navigation links together at the top of page and at the bottom or sides. If you have a bunch of links be sure to use text links, because images take longer to load. If you use backlinks for seo or swap website links with other website owners for search engine rankings it will be best to have a page just for these links. Any site that is successful or makes money online will have these kind of pages to build their link popularity.

The website logo should be placed on each page and have navigational links on every page of the website. If you plan to use sound on the website, fix it were the visitors have to click on a object or link before the sound starts.

To keep visitors coming back you should add new content, at least every two weeks. You can even give ebooks away to help promote your website. If you have your own ebook you can spread your sales information and links throughout the ebook. Some of the best selling products on the web is information or “how to” products. Provide your visitors with quality, informative articles that is about your content, if your site is about “steps to make money online starts with traffic” then stay on that subject throughout the website. The articles can be written by you or you can use other author’s articles to help cut down on the work load. Most articles you find in the article directories can be republished free as long as you include their bio box.
