2. Combining niche marketing and affiliate marketing to target markets in a less competitive way. This makes sense because if you are just getting started some websites have a large advantage over you.

For example if you were to try to create a website in the niche of make money online you will find there are websites with literally thousands of backlinks already. However if you were to target a less competitive niche such as make money as a blog writer you would find it is less competitive.

The other thing is affiliate marketing is a way to make money selling other people’s products. You can find affiliate programs in the niche you choose to target which allows you to get started very quickly.

When I first started my Internet career I chose the affiliate marketing business, because I thought it was a great way to get started making money online. In retrospect I wish someone would have told me how hard it was going to be to make money with an affiliate business.

By hard, I mean difficult in learning the skills when it comes the building and affiliate marketing business. Many of the ads you see online talk about how easy it is to make money with affiliate marketing.

What I am finding out is that it is extremely difficult in the first few months, because there are so many things to learn that it almost is overwhelming. I can see why 95% of the people fail, because it just gets to be too frustrating.

You can thank me right now for telling is that affiliate marketing is going to be hard at first. The good news is that it does get easier!  It gets easier because you learn a few things that are necessary to be successful.

If you’re not very proficient on the computer you’re going to need to learn a few basics on that.  If you do not know how to get traffic to a website, you’re going to have to learn that.

For some of you, you are even going to have to decide what products to sell.  Although these are exciting times they are frustrating when your efforts do not bring the money in every day.

The best advice I can give you is hanging in there. It will get easier.

Lastly, make sure there is a way for you to view your statistics.  Statistics say everything when it comes to the kind of success you are having.  Every affiliate program should have some kind of page that allows you to look at your statistics while you are working for them 24 hours a day.  The internet never sleeps, so why should your affiliate program?

There is great potential for affiliate marketing if you take the time to find a legitimate program.  Accommodating an affiliate program with your home business is a great way to branch out and have income flowing in multiple directions.  If you follow the tips listed above, you can have success with affiliate marketing.
