What Your Traffic’s Telling You – 4 Things Web Analytics Can Teach You

Brick-and-mortar stores often change displays, move goods around, and put impulse items beside checkouts. The reason behind these changes is they’re analyzing customer traffic and studying behavioral patterns to understand how consumers shop. As an online retailer, you need to study your customer traffic as well, in order to increase sales.

There are a number of web traffic analytics companies, such as http://OneStat.com and http://StatCounter.com, that analyze your customers’ shopping patterns. They follow your customers’ clicks to and through your web pages and provide you with valuable info on how your customers experience your web site:

1. You see which keywords bring you, not only the most hits, but also the highest conversion rates.
People often find the generic words they use bring them a great deal of traffic, but that traffic averages a shorter stay on the site. The longer visitors spend on your site, the more likely they are to buy something. Analyzing that data allows you to see which keywords are effective for you.

2. You see the average amount of time users spend on your site.
Due to latent conversion, this is a good indicator of how business will be in the coming months. If your users are taking their time, looking at things carefully, that tells you they’re really interested and will likely come back to complete the transaction.

3. You see if your traffic’s leaving as soon as they hit your landing page.
If they are, you know you have a problem. As soon as users get there, you want to reinforce to them they’re in the right place. Says John Marshall, founder and CEO of http://ClickTracks.com, “Make sure the keyword the user clicked is associated with, and strongly connected to the copy in that landing page, and throughout the experience. Just paying attention to that could probably get you a 20% to 50% improvement in your conversion rate.”

4. You see where people are exiting your site.
This is especially important when you have customers leaving in the middle of checkout. If you see a high rate of users, with full shopping carts, leaving on a particular page, you can pinpoint what’s costing you sales:

• If they’re exiting on the page where you explain shipping costs, you might see your shipping appears higher than your competitors’.

• If they’re leaving halfway through filling out the buyer’s information, you might consider that your buyer questionnaire is too long.

Web analytics puts you in a position to see what’s working on your web site and what isn’t. It highlights where you need to make changes, and then measures how effective those changes are.

What The Heavy Hitting Marketers Don’t Want You To Know

I have noticed far too many people out on video networks, especially Youtube and it’s bunch in the marketing arena that are using blackhat marketing tactics in order to attempt to gain more exposure. I’m going to go over a few things with you guys that will not only be a short lived victory but also ruin you as a marketer entirely if you follow this path. Blackhat marketing is definitely not the way you want to go in order to make money online, you’ll want to go about it a completely different approach. Let me explain a few things talking about each thing in turn.

#1). If your video is about Revolutionary Matrix or IYP, do NOT include anything in the title, description nor keywords/tags about other companies. Say you made a video on the IYP Social Network and you’re actively promoting IYP, you do not want to put [gdi] [revolutionary matrix] [spider web marketing system] [10K Matrix] etc anywhere in your title, description nor tags/keywords. The reason why is this is considered Mass Advertisement and Misleading Text to Youtube and other video networks and will definitely get your Youtube Account suspended and possibly you permanently banned from the video network. Yes, it does increase your exposure when you do this sort of thing, but your exposure is coming with a severe price to pay, so therefor is a very, VERY short lived victory. Don’t want to do that. You will be severely screwing yourself if you do. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot. Also, it’s just wrong. Use SEO, not blackhat tactics.

#2). Do not use auto click applications, buy hits, nor use programs like Tube Increase nor Tube Thumper. These applications have proxy lists but those lists are outdated all the time as Google Youtube catches up with the proxies as fast as hell. Using these will increase your views, but it unfortunately won’t matter worth a damn as your view count will get chopped off and reduced, then frozen on top of that and with the possibility of going straight to being banned from Youtube itself. Again, increases exposure for a very short period of time, but it’s a very VERY short lived victory. Use SEO, not blackhat tactics!

#3). Do not create fake nor Multiple Youtube accounts to rate, favorite and share your videos nor subscribe to your own channel. This will get you higher up in the search results, but will also redflag Google/Youtube that you’re abusing their system and will be a short lived victory. It may seem like you know what you’re doing, but Google Youtube can and will easily track your IP Number across all these different “Fake Channels/Accounts” that you create and will ban you permanently. Again, a very VERY short lived victory and not worth the heartache of never being able to do video marketing again. Use SEO, not blackhat tactics!

#4). Many people for some stupid reason think that the best kind of video is going to be them by themselves making the video with no music, pictures nor text and just be straight into the camera all by themselves. This is pretty darn boring if you ask me and quite honestly, if all I have is sitting there and watching you flap your chops all day about some program that everyone else is saying, I’m probably going to go to the person that shows that he or she has the most skills, not the person that shows me that they indeed have a mic and webcam. It’s a common mistake that keeps being spread around by blackhat marketers, but to be honest, these blackhat marketers that are also acclaimed “Great Sponsors” don’t want you to know the information I’m giving you!

In order to be a sponsor, you need to communicate with people, be their friend, build relationships and use SEO and teach SEO in order to build your downline. This social manipulation garbage is just that, garbage. This blackhat stuff that some of these other companies are teaching out there, still, nothing but garbage. If a company teaches you garbage like this, then the company itself is garbage and the people that own and run the company are nothing but garbage.

You don’t need to know how to abuse a system in a way to get a short lived victory, because if you do, you’ll have a short lived downline as well. SEO is the only way to do it. Viral Cash Blogging, Viral Services, Viral Tactics, SEO Optimization, Forum Marketing and so many other tactics are far better than the blackhat methods that give that short victory and quick decline into failure. That’s why 90+ percentage of people that get into network marketing fail. They have people teaching them garbage but nothing about real SEO nor any viral marketing.

And yes, blogging using viral blogging and cash blogging is building a relationship. Relationships aren’t all about going off and being someone’s best friend all the time, relationships are also being known for being a guru, someone who speaks their mind, someone who tells it like it really is, someone who is real, someone they can count on, someone they can trust, someone that knows what they’re doing.

I for instance have a relationship personally with several thousand people right now, mostly due to my blogging, and my blogs become extremely viral. These people ever see my face, nor do they ever hear my voice. NEVER do they see nor hear me, literally. All I am to most people is a bunch of text on a website with the occasional related picture or two and that’s it. Yet I get signups left and right and drag in heavy hitters that some people can only dream of getting a hold of.

Right now, I’m literally bigger than some of the people you guys personally think are the biggest guys, but that’s only because they’re on the leaderboards in GDI, my records however, aren’t recorded on the GDI leaderboards, my records are elsewhere, especially within RM and IYP. This is why, none of these self proclaimed heavy hitters are even able to put a scratch on me. It’s because I use SEO, viral marketing and cash blogging. Most viral marketing doesn’t even require being SEO Optimized, it’s about syndication and how you perform the syndication. Google doesn’t even have to know your website, blog, video, etc even exists. All you need is the right syndication method that is heavily trafficed and BLAM, viral.

So stop the blackhat marketing already. It’s really pathetic and is going to be your downfall.

Is Your Affiliate Marketing Income At The Level You Would Like It To Be?

While your income may never be at what you dream of, it is important that you ask yourself if your affiliate marketing income is where you would like it to be.  Think back to when you started affiliate marketing; have you accomplished your goal for income level?  If not, there are some things you can do to increase your income.

Perhaps the most important piece to increasing your affiliate marketing income is knowing the niche you are in.  It is essential that you know everything you can about your niche plus some.  You never know what kinds of questions prospects are going to ask you, but you had better be prepared to answer them if you want to make a sell.

One thing you will come to realize, if you have not already, is that everything on the internet changes frequently.  What this means to you is that you must constantly research and read up on things going on with your niche.  It is never good when the prospect knows about something new within your niche and you do not.

Along with general research, keyword research can really make a difference in your affiliate marketing income as well.  The keywords you choose can have a drastic impact on your marketing efforts and can assist you in reeling in far more customers than you would have thought.  It is recommended that you use keywords with not too much competition so that you give your website and articles a better chance of climbing to the top of the search engines.

As for the product you are marketing, make sure it is something you enjoy.  The great thing about the internet is that there is an endless amount of opportunities to choose from.  Therefore, it only makes sense to get into something you enjoy if the option is there.  You will find that it is much easier to get up and go to work if it involves something you have a love for.

Lastly, try to get into an affiliate program that relates to your website.  If you do not have a website, you probably should get one.  Having your own website will make affiliate marketing much easier on you.  It will give you a place to promote the various programs you join and it will allow you to reel in customers for other products as well, thus creating additional income.

Affiliate marketing can be a make or miss kind of internet business if you do not know what you are doing.  But by incorporating your own website with extensive research and keyword research, you can drastically increase your affiliate marketing income.
